With the announcement of Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS last week (as well as that other little game for Nintendo Switch, Metroid Prime 4), we're excited for the return of the femme fatale, as she no doubt blasts her way through space and leaves alien enemies in the dust. But lucky European fans now have their chance to get their hands on an ultimate collector's edition of the game.

A Metroid: Samus Returns Legacy Edition has been revealed by Nintendo of Europe, and, well, it's pretty much everything a fan of the series would want in a collector's edition. It's jam-packed with all sorts of retro goodness, which we've broken down for you below.

  • A SteelBook case for the game that's designed like the classic Metroid II game cartridge, so you can carry around your copy of Samus Returns in style
  • A digital download code for the original Metroid 2 for Nintendo 3DS
  • A Metroid: Samus Returns art book loaded with design goodness from the team behind the game, MercurySteam
  • A Samus Archive 25th anniversary soundtrack CD, which will more than likely feature songs from various Metroid games (though that isn't entirely confirmed yet)
  • A physical copy of Metroid: Samus Returns in its original box.
  • A gold "S" pin badge, shaped like the character icon used for Samus Aran in the Metroid series
  • A Metroid Morph Ball 3D keyring, which resembles Samus in her rolled-up ball form

This special edition hasn't been priced yet, but it's likely to go for around $60 or so considering all its included assets. Sadly, there's no word on a U.S. release yet, but considering how much Nintendo of America has supported its Metroid fans as of late, we'd be damn surprised if we didn't get one. Maybe it'll be a Nintendo World Store exclusive, or something it'll offer in limited numbers through a certain retailer. Whatever, we just want it. The collectible case and key ring alone are things we'd certainly set back a few bucks for, so we can set them right next to our Metroid Amiibos. (We're fans.)

Metroid: Samus Returns releases on September 15th for Nintendo 3DS.
