Rick and Morty Pokemon Spin-Off Pocket Mortys Gets Multiplayer Today, Episodic Updates Soon

Rick and Morty is on a roll! We've seen the cartoon duo invade multiple games recently, including Rocket League, and now their own original mobile game is about to get some huge updates. Pocket Mortys is a kind of Pokémon spin-off game that you can download for free on your smart device from Adult Swim Games. Fans absolutely love the game -- it's been downloaded over 11 million times -- and an update today will introduce multiplayer for the very first time. Additionally, future weekly updates will introduce content to coincide with new episodes of the show.

In a recent press release, Adult Swim Games details what future updates will offer new and current players: "Pocket Mortys comes alive with real time content updates starting Sunday, July 23, with the weekly release of all-new avatars based on season three episodes of Rick and Morty for fans to collect including: Commander Rick, Judge Morty, Summer, Tinkles, Scary Terry, Ants in My Eyes Johnson, and many more.

"The game lets players assemble the best team of Mortys to train and battle each other in the delight of the consul of Ricks. Now with Pocket Mortys multiplayer, fans can battle each other across new dimensions putting their Morty training skills to the ultimate test while collecting dozens of new Mortys and avatars."

Pocket Mortys spins a take on the addictive Pokémon formula like only Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland could imagine. Instead of a Pokémon trainer, you'll play as Rick as he endeavors to become a Morty trainer. You'll adventure across multiple universes discovering, capturing, and training a variety of different Mortys.
