Spider-Man: Homecoming features the debut of Sinister Six stalwart The Vulture, but what villains could possibly show up in Homecoming 2 and beyond?
Spidey's rogues' gallery is filled with interesting villains, and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige spoke to the Toronto Sun (via Heroic Hollywood) about what's coming down the pike for everyone's favorite wall-crawler.
Feige said "We are excited to use characters that you haven't seen before on screen. So that narrows it down a little bit in terms of who will pop up next. Spider-Man has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to villains and there are a lot that haven't been touched upon. It's those that we will be looking at first."
So far the movies have tackled villains like the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Venom, Sandman, the Lizard, Electro, Rhino, Shocker, and now the Vulture. That's a lot to be sure, but there are plenty still left.
Possible future choices include Mysterio, Scorpion, Alistair Smythe and the Spider-Slayers (though Alistair has already appeared sans abilities), Hobgoblin, Shriek, the Jackal, Carnage, Mister Negative, Hydro-Man, Kraven the Hunter, Molten Man, Morlun, and more are still left, along with personal favorite Cardiac of course.
In other words, Spidey isn't running out of villains anytime soon.
Spider-Man: Homecoming currently enjoys a 4.12 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, JacobBatalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.
