Developer Chris Baker Returns With New Spider-Man PS4 Analysis Video

Last month, we noted a video put together by game manager Chris Baker, who previously worked with Marvel and other teams on five different Spider-Man games, that broke down a number of details from Insomniac Games' forthcoming Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4 – an analysis that's still worth a look if you haven't checked it out already. Well, guess what – he's baaaaaack!

Following this weekend's new video reveal from the D23 Expo, Baker has returned with yet another video, breaking down the new footage that was revealed from the event, and pointing out a few things that fans might have missed – and, upon closer inspection, it turns out that it was quite a bit.

The video, which runs about ten minutes long, focuses more on the new footage that's featured in the clip, which runs about 25 seconds. But he says there's "quite a bit to dig into here."

For instance, he can chase down cars again, as he's done in previous games, as well as Spidey's amazing combo system, in which after he nails about seven hits or so, finishing off an opponent with a stylish concluding hit.

Oh, and then there's the web-swinging. He shows just how specific it can be as you swing alongside a building, and how it bends around it. It's kind of neat, and shows off the physicality of the game, and the research Insomniac Games is putting into the game's physics. It looks fantastic.

Baker also takes a look at some of the concept art featured in the game, and he points out the recognizable buildings in the game – showing some of the depth featured in the city. (Of course, that probably cost Sony quite a bit to put into the game, with licensing and all.)

Plus there's Peter's bedroom, and closing in on some of the details he has pegged to the wall. It's pretty amazing analysis, as Baker is thinking really deeply about what's involved with it. And, again, it shows the amount of work Insomniac is putting into the game.
