While plenty of fans enjoyed the new-look Batman that was introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck almost had a very different style.
Concept artist Jerad Marantz worked costume designer Michael Wilkinson on Affleck's suit, and it looks like they went through several variations in order to perfect the look.
Marantz took to Instagram to post several of his early designs. The first one, which you can see above, was extremely high-tech. The metal on the suit was very rigid, as was the cowl.
Perhaps the biggest difference in the original suit was the logo itself. Rather than the thick insignia that ended up on Affleck's chest, this bat was much thinner and classic-looking.
The other suit designs were much more like the final version. While they still looked a little more advanced than the suit worn in the movie, they were a lot softer in tone than the first concept.
You can check out many of Marantz's designs over on his Instagram account.
