Wipe that sleep out of your eyes, heroes! It's time for more Injustice 2 hype! NetherRealm Studios [...]
Fighter Pack 2 Trailer
What a trailer! No one saw this coming. Well, we saw at least one of those characters coming, but we thought for sure that Raiden's DLC silhouette was going to end up being a troll. Either way, our next three characters have been revealed, and I think that DC Comics fans are going to be very, very happy.
There was one little thing missing from the end of the trailer that we were all hoping for, and that was another, more transparent tease of who the remaining fighters are. At the end of the trailer for fighter pack 1, our three DLC fighters stepped forward and then the original shadows for the remaining six characters were revealed. We were hoping to get another look at our final three fighters, but no dice.
Alright, let's dive in and talk about the newcomers.

We knew Black Manta had to make the cut; there were just too many clues indicating that he was on the way. He had a fully-realized character model already in the game and present in the Atlantis stage, and fans have been begging to see him for a while now. On top of it all, Ed Boon was brave enough to mention him by name in an interview. He looks better than ever in the new trailer.
We were interested to see at the end of the trailer that Black Manta is featured holding a rifle instead of a trident or dual blades. His shoulder-mounted rocket-launchers were also shown off in the trailer. Will he be more of a zoner like Deadshot?
prevnextRaiden
This was one of the big surprises, mainly because it was so obviously teased! When the first fighter pack was revealed we saw a shadow teased in the background that very obviously looked like Raiden, and so we thought that NetherRealm was trolling us. They've done it before! We figured the silhouette, which featured Raiden's telltale hat, would end up being another random hero wearing a hat.
In fact, we ended up with Raiden. I can't say I'm disappointed, as Raiden has always been one of my go-to main characters since the SNES days. It will be interesting to see how he clashes with the likes of Black Adam. Maybe he'll even make it to the top of the tier list like his lightning wielding counterpart.

And here was the big reveal... and we mean big! Hellboy is coming to the Injustice 2 roster, and we think he's going to fit in just fine. This hulking hunk will for sure be more of a tanky character and play defensively. If we had to guess, we'd wager a kind of hybrid between Bane and Red Hood; plenty of heavy slams and grapples, and plenty of gunplay.
But Injustice 2 fans all told Ed Boon that we wanted to see Spawn in the game. What happened with that? Did it fall through? Is Spawn still on the way? What about Raven? Was there a character missing today who you really wanted to see? Let us know in the poll below.
