The latest Marvel Comics storyline sees many popular heroes in a similar-but-parallel universe succumb and become overtaken by the Venom symbiote. To promote the Merc with the Mouth's dance with the alien parasite, Marvel just released a claymation video showing how the whole thing went down.
The Venomized Deadpool appears on the cover of Edge of Venomverse #5, now in stores. In the comic written by Clay McLeod Chapman with art by the amazing James Stokoe, Deadpool stumbles into a research facility where the scientists have become overtaken by their parasitic experiments. Deadpool uses the Venom symbiote to gain the upperhand.
But Marvel's claymation video tells a different story. Check it out above.
It's pretty awesome to see such a well-done clip to promote the comic book. It also provides a different look of the design featured in Stokoe's artwork. Both are unconventional but are wonderful takes on the Venom/Deadpool hybrid.
Last week's Edge of Venomverse issue wrapped up that miniseries, with the main event set to kick off weekly in September.
The end of this issue sees Venompool join up with a Venomized Captain Americato fight in a war.
The upcoming tie-in One Shot comic Venomverse: War Stories #1 promises to keep the fun going with a Punisher/Venom story written AND drawn by the incomparable Declan Shalvey.
What was probably a joke in the editorial department has turned out to be a fun comic series with some amazing creators contributing stories. Venomverse has provided some killer moments, including this awesome claymation video, and we hope to see more from Marvel in the future.
