Season two of Riverdale is still well over a month from its premiere, but one of the new cast members of the hit CW show is already getting death threats over what her character might mean for one of the show's most popular relationships.

It was reported last month that Vanessa Morgan would be joining the series as Toni Topaz and now Morgan tells Glamour that some fans are so unhappy that she's been receiving death threats, specifically from fans of Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) "Bughead" relationship. The possibility of a love triangle has die-hard Bughead fans so upset even before the season begins.

"I've already had some death threats," Morgan said. "But the thing is, it's half death threats because they don't want that [actually] happening, and there's half that's just all love. Who knows if [my character coming between Bughead] is even going to happen. People are just jumping to conclusions."

At the end of last season, Jughead had to move to Riverdale's Southside due to his father, FP Jones, being in jail. In the season finale, Jughead was shown eagerly taking his place in the Serpents gang much to Betty's horror. It's Jughead's gang involvement -- and Betty's possible disapproval of it -- where Toni comes in.

"She's a Southside Serpent, a gang member, and Jughead's first friend," Morgan said about Toni. "So, I might stir up the pot a bit with the Bughead relationship. There might be a little love triangle."

But it's not just Betty and Jughead whose relationship could have an unwelcome third member in the upcoming season. Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed last month that Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Archie's (K. J. Apa) relationship could be in trouble when Veronica's ex-boyfriend, Nick St. Clair, hits town.

Riverdale's second season will premiere on a new night, on Wednesday, October 11th, at 8/7c, on The CW.

As the town breathed a collective sigh of relief that Jason's killer had been found out, another terrible crime occurred, in a space that had been considered one of the town's safest, most innocent places. If Jason Blossom's murder revealed the slimy underbelly beneath Riverdale's surface, as we enter Season Two, the shooting of Fred Andrews threatens to plunge the entire town into utter darkness.
