When Jadis arrived on The Walking Dead, the hot topic became the character's unique choice in hair style. As it turns out, this was actress Pollyanna McIntosh's look all along.
While visiting the set of The Walking Dead's 100th episode in May, ComicBook.com caught up with McIntosh, who is very much aware ofthe fan debate. However, she revealed the fact that the hair she rocks on The Walking Dead is actually her personal look and not a choice made by the producers of the AMC series.
"It's so weird, my hair was like this," McIntosh said. "For all the haters online going 'You look like a dick.' I'm thinking 'Yeah, I did before. I've always looked like a dick.'"
McIntosh, who is actually quite the opposite of her Jadis character, adopted the look while taking on a previous role.
"I had bangs on and off like this since I did a movie called The Woman," McIntosh said. "[The character] was a hunter and feral in the woods so I just took my hair and went, 'She looked like this, right?' Because I didn't want to wear a wig. And since then one way or another I've had bangs."
Just before auditioning for The Walking Dead, McIntosh had the look once again for another film which would carry over to her role on the AMC series. "This was actually made for a biker chick gang leader called Trigger in a movie called Blood on Wheels," McIntosh said. "We finished shooting a week before I auditioned for [The Walking Dead] and I thought, 'Well this hair's gonna be really limiting'" And then they wanted to keep it."

The Walking Dead's sibling series Fear the Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 pm ET on AMC. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017.
