Oliver Queen will be adjusting to a new normal in Arrow's upcoming sixth season, but that apparently won't impact his outlook on one of the show's returning characters.

In an interview with TVLine, Amell addressed the return of Earth-2's Laurel Lance/Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), who will be stepping into a larger role in the new season. As he explained, Oliver will continue to have a positive outlook on Black Siren, and her potential redemption.

"Oliver, ironically — and despite the fact that she allied herself with Adrian Chase — is the most hopeful one." Amell explained. "He's like, 'If theres a bit of Laurel in there, I want to find it.'"

Oliver's relationship with Earth-1 Laurel went through plenty of evolutions before her death, only for his feelings to be kicked back up in the 100th episode with their engagement in his alien-induced dream world. With that in mind, it makes sense that he would advocate for her redemption - something that EP Wendy Mericle teased earlier this year.

"I don't know if there's any question about whether or not the [idea] of redemption will come up; it has to." Mericle explained. "Her father is there. Oliver is there. Everyone is going to be asking whether or not it's possible to find a little piece of Laurel, the Laurel Lance they knew and loved, in there somewhere."

Fans will begin to see if redemption is in the cards for Black Siren when Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT following the season premiere of Supernatural on The CW.
