Mike Colter Teases Iron Fist's Role In 'Luke Cage' Season 2
In the Marvel team-up series The Defenders, fans got their first taste of a big superhero team [...]
What About Jessica Jones?
Heroes for Hire is a fan-favorite team in Marvel Comics, but other fans have expressed their desires to see what happens to Luke and his comics-wife Jessica Jones.
In the Netflix series, Jessica and Luke were together for a portion of her own solo series on Netflix, but after the machinations of Kilgrave set them against each other they went their own separate ways.
"A lot of times people wanted to see Jessica Jones and Luke and what happens to them; but we went out on a limb, and decided to 'let's give a little Heroes for Hire somewhere in the season and see what happens.'" Colter said. "Hopefully people will respond to it."
Though Jones' portrayal of Danny Rand was one of the most criticized aspects of The Defenders, and his own series is the most critically-panned of all Netflix series, it was still a hit among viewers.
We'll see if Luke Cage can build on that dynamic in the series' second season.

Though Colter wouldn't reveal whether or not his character would appear on any other Netflix series, he did provide an update for his own show.
"We're working on it right now," Colter said. "It will be [released] sometime next year."
And though it seems like Jessica Jones' second season has already wrapped, her co-Defender hasn't followed suit just yet.
"We're not finished filming yet and after that, it's based on timing and when they want to drop it. It's like a record. 'When do you want to drop it?' Netflix has their own agenda and their own schedule, so I'll assume it's next year."
But Colter still would not give a time frame.
"How soon? I don't know, but hopefully the first quarter or first half."
Luke Cage Season One and The Defenders are both currently streaming on Netflix.
