The CW is currently developing a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series, and it looks like they've begun searching for their lead.

A casting description for Sabrina's role in the upcoming Riverdale companion series has surfaced online, thanks to That Hashtag Show. You can check it out below.

"Female, Open Ethnicity, to play 16.

Sabrina is an half-human, half-witch, empowered young woman just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Sabrina's intelligent, compassionate, and brave to the point of recklessness.

She is fiercely loyal to her family and friends; wickedly funny and in the middle of a star-crossed romance with her classmate Harvey Kinkle. She challenges witch-doctrine at every turn. She is all that stands between us and the Forces of Darkness that threaten our world."

If this casting description is official, it does give a pretty strong indication of what to expect for the series' version of Sabrina. For one thing, the call for "open ethnicity" teases a potentially diverse casting of the character, something that will excite those bored of the blonde, blue-eyed interpretations of Sabrina.

The reference to Sabrina's "star-crossed" relationship with Harvey is certainly worth noting too. Fans will probably best recognize Harvey from his role on the previous Sabrina: The Teenage Witch television series, where he served as Sabrina's primary love interest. There was already word that Harvey would make his way onto Chilling Adventures - namely, thanks to a script page posted by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa - but it's clear that he will have a significant role in Sabrina's early narrative.

Seeing as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is currently casting, here's hoping we won't have to wait too long to see who ends up playing the title role. The series is being eyed for the 2018-2019 television series.
