'Justice League': Ray Fisher Says Cyborg Will Emphasize More Advanced Tech Than In The Past

Cyborg fans looking forward to the Justice League movie should expect to see the most technologically advanced version of the character yet.

In an interview with DC All Access, published in the back matter of this week's DC Comics releases, Cyborg actor Ray Fisher defined his character through the technology he represents.

"Cyborg is advanced technology," Fisher says. "If previous incarnations have emphasized modern tech, he'd be advanced tech. So I think he represents the way of the future, it's something that we can look forward to."

Fisher also went into some details about Cyborg's backstory, which director Zack Snyder has said is at the heart of the Justice League movie, and which has been changed from what it was in the DC Comics universe.

"Cyborg, aka Victor Stone, is a college athlete when a tragic accident befalls him, by no fault of his own," Fisher says. "His father uses advanced cybernetics to replace his lost limbs and essentially save his son's life. The technology imbues him with super-strength and super-durability and allows him to interface with anything technological. He has worlds of information at his disposal, which is a really interesting concept to explore."

Fisher also expressed how momentous it felt ot stand side-by-side with his fellow Justice League movie stars for the first time.

"Yeah, the day we were all up on the wall for the first time, it was kind of like watching my eight-year-old self's dreams come true," Fisher said. "When I got back and watched the playback of the camera spinning around, and you see the members of the League up there for the first time...I mean, I almost shed a tear. I will say, I held it together pretty good."
