The recently-released Deadpool sequel teaser took fans by surprise this morning, and Rob Liefeld is here to celebrate it.

Liefeld, who created Marvel's Merc with a Mouth, recently shared a piece inspired by Deadpool 2's teaser trailer on his Instagram. The piece shows Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in his Bob Ross costume, standing in front of a rainbow painting.

Liefeld's rendition highlights some of the most delightful things about the teaser, from the "Hugs, not drugs" line to Deadpool looking pretty awesome in Bob Ross' afro wig.

With Liefeld also creating Cable and Domino, who will be played by Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz in Deadpool 2, the comic creator has nothing but kind words about the new teaser trailer.

"Proving once again that Ryan Reynolds is the living embodiment of all things Deadpool, the fans should study every frame of this magnificent work for its pure unadulterated genius," Liefeld told ComicBook.com earlier today. "As always, I'm in awe. Aren't we all?"

Today's trailer release follows the movie's first poster reveal and a spread in Good Housekeeping magazine. With more information - including the potential title for the movie - Liefeld tells ComicBook.com that fans should be excited for more.

"The Game is afoot!" Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld told ComicBook.com when the magazine feature was revealed. "Oh man, this could not be more exciting for the fans as well as for all the great talent bringing Deadpool 2 to life! Deadpool! Cable! Domino! Colossus! Fans, brace yourself, you have no idea all the awesome that is coming your way! The best news is that June 1 is closer today than it was yesterday!!"

Deadpool 2 hits theaters June 1, 2018.
