A lot of Marvel fans are still working their way through The Punisher Netflix series, but we're already starting to see some nice Easter eggs being unearthed!

The Punisher Black Widow Easter Egg

As you can see above (Click HERE for Hi-Res Photo), this scene is from episode 6, "The Judas Goat", when young veteran Lewis Wilson finally snaps and kills O'Connor, the man pretending to be a Vietnam vet at support groups. On O'Connor's TV is a stack of old VHS tapes, with one of them being Black Widow (hat tip to Reddit).

The actual tape is a VHS version of the 1987 thriller Black Widow, starring Debra Winger and Theresa Russell. The film followed a Justice Department agent (Winger) who spots a pattern in a series murders, which leads her to a femme fatale (Russell) who marries wealthy men and kills them.

Of course there's little doubt why the set decorators would leave that tape facing toward camera: a nice little reference to Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), the MCU's own Black Widow! Currently, Widow is on the run as part of Captain America's underground, following the events of Captain America: Civil War. She'll be back in Avengers: Infinity War next summer, sporting a new silver hair color. Punisher and Black Widow have actually teamed up in the 2014 Marvel animated movie Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher, so check that out if you haven't!

Marvel's The Punisher is currently streaming on Netflix.
