One of the most successful films of 2017, Wonder Woman captured the attention of both audiences and critics alike, smashing box office records and earning numerous accolades. Now, the Patty Jenkins directed blockbuster can add one more achievement to the list: AFI's Top 10 Movies of 2017.

As reported by Deadline, the American Film Institute announced its annual Movies of the Year list and Wonder Woman comes in alongside Dunkirk, The Post, Get Out, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Shape of Water, Lady Bird, The Florida Project, and The Big Sick. Of the films that made the list, which honors the "most culturally and artistically significant films" of the year, Wonder Woman is the only superhero film. Jenkins took to Twitter to express happiness and gratitude at the Gal Gadot-starring film making the list.

"So deeply honored for our beloved film to be part of this distinguished record of filmmaking," Jenkins wrote.

And Jenkins isn't wrong about the list being distinguished. Warner Bros. debuted their 'For Your Consideration' page for the films its submitting for Academy Award nominations and Wonder Woman is among them. As seven of last year's nine Best Picture nominees -- including the winner Moonlight -- were on the AFI list, bolstering the film's chances at being nominated and potentially winning.

And while Jenkins is grateful for all of the praise and accolades Wonder Woman is receiving, she reminded people last month that award season potential wasn't what drove her to make the movie.

"When you're making a movie it's completely all consuming; there are many things you don't have time to think about," Jenkins said. "I certainly wasn't thinking about the Oscars. It's just not something you consider when you make these kinds of movies. I did the best that I could, but you kind of assume you're not going to be considered for that kind of thing... But now, hearing that, I'm so flattered and stunned and super honored to be in the awards conversation."

Wonder Woman is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital.
