Star Wars: Fan Inserts Carrie Fisher's Force Ghost Into 'The Last Jedi' Photoshoot

The promotional tour for the cast and the crew of The Last Jedi offers the opportunity for those involved to reconnect, yet, along with those feelings of joy come those of sadness, as Carrie Fisher is no longer with us. While she might have passed away, her presence is still felt, with a Twitter user editing a photo of the cast and crew to include a Force Ghost image of the actress.

In 2015, audiences not only got to experience Leia Organa once more in The Force Awakens, but also became enamored with how witty and charming the actress was, making her loss last year feel all the more painful.

While the cast and crew of the film assuredly miss Fisher, the press circuit has also allowed those who knew her to share some of their favorite memories and revel in what made her so unique.

"Carrie was, you know, a writer first and foremost. She loved words," writer/director Rian Johnson told ComicBook.com. "We would get together and we would go over the scenes. We wouldn't rewrite the scenes but she would throw out suggestions for jokes, and lines, and ideas. And we'd go back and forth."

Despite Johnson having written the script, he couldn't deny how effective Fisher's contributions were to his story.

"There are a few scenes that we got together with her and the other actors in the scene and kind of shaped it," Johnson confessed. "I mean, if you have Carrie Fisher standing there with you, you'd be a fool not to use her writing talents. That was probably her main contribution."

The edited photo of Fisher's presence seems like an appropriate reflection of how the cast copes with the actress' absence. Mark Hamill recently shared that his best coping method is pretending she's still around.

"The only way I've been able to cope is to think of her in the present tense. She's so vital in my mind even today," Hamill told Men's Journal. "We had our ups and downs. She was almost like a real sibling because I loved her deeply, but she could be so exasperating. When she went into cardiac arrest, it never occurred to me that she wouldn't bounce back. I just thought, 'Well, she's got her next book written.' She'll call it A Piece of My Heart or something acerbic and witty."

Fans can see the actress' final role when The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.
