'Dragon Ball Super' Makes Change To Tournament Stage

Episode 122 of Dragon Ball Super was the first step into the Tournament of Power's final stage, and it started out with a bang. But before Goku and Jiren got into their rematch, the Grand Priest had to make some changes.

He erased all of the empty bleachers and put all of the spectators together on one bleacher with hilarious results.

Episode 122 began where the last episode left off, in a stare down between Universe 7 and 11. As the two universes taunted one another, the Grand Priest noticed how the bleaches looked a bit "lonely." A panned shot showed the large empty space between the remaining universes, so he fixed this by shifting all of the spectators together.

Some universes are happier with this change than others, but the sudden shift surely rocks everyone by surprise. Zen-Oh is happy with the change, however. To the Grand Priest, that's the only opinion that carries any weight in the end. This also lead to some new conversations between the universes, and shed some new light on how other characters interact with one another.

Marcarita of Universe 11 asks Vados if she's aligned with Universe 7, and Vados proudly retorts that with Universe 6 gone, she'll support Universe 7. This was only one of the many awkward moments when Grand Priest combined the bleachers as everyone else sat there in silence with only Shin saying "Hello."

The awkward vibe only emphasizes how far Universe 7 had come in the Tournament of Power as almost every other universe had been eliminated. What was once an arena filled to the brim with people now is whittled down to very little members. With only eight minutes left as of the end of Episode 122, there will surely be more changes to come.

Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" arc is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. DragonBall Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturday evenings at 7:15 p.m. CST. Adult Swim airs the English dub during its Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m, and is now available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon Video.

There is also currently a new Dragon Ball film in the works for 2018. The film will focus on the Saiyans, the "origins of Goku's power," and potentially the story of the very first Super Saiyan God. Not only does it aim to be the best film in the series, original creator Akira Toriyama will be contributing to the film's script and new character designs.
