The last time we saw Pedro in One Piece, he split off from Brook in order to distract Big Mom's crew from the treasure room. Unfortunately, this put him up against Baron Tamago, one of the stronger fighters in her crew.

The preview for Episode 820 showed that Pedro and Baron Tamago's fight would enter a new stage, and it certainly did when Tamago turned into a giant chicken.

Though Pedro seems to have the upper hand last time, the tables have turned pretty quickly. When Pedro decisively chops Tamago in half, it revealed a small egg yolk on the inside. But Tamago still wasn't beaten. With a weird "cheep, cheep" call out, he evolves into his second form, Viscount Hiyoko.

Confirming that he ate a Devil Fruit, this new Viscount Hiyoko form turns Baron Tamago into a more powerful warrior as he boasts that his swordsmanship surpasses than of "Baron Tamago" (also the need to refer to himself in the third person). This new power proved deadly indeed as he gained the power of flight and faster dagger strikes.

But Pedro manages to defeat him a second time regardless, yet Tamago attempts to transform into a third form, Count Niwatori. His Egg-Egg power allows him to revive and transform into a stronger being each time he's defeated, so Pedro tries to stop this before it happens by detonating sticks of dynamite he's been carrying with him this whole time.

The last we see of Pedro this episode is in the midst of a huge explosion that also happened to confirm that Tamago indeed was able to complete his transformation into his Niwatori form.

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. It has been collected into 87 volumes, with a few chapters yet to be included. It has been a critical and commercial success worldwide with many of the volumes breaking printing records in Japan. The manga has even set a Guinness World Record for the most copies published for the same comic book by a single author, and is the best selling manga series worldwide with 430 million copies sold worldwide.

Eiichiro Oda also revealed some upcoming news for One Piece's future at Jump Festa 2018. Not only will the manga see Wano sooner rather than later, the next villain of the series is "one of the legends which lurks in the One Piece world. The greatest enemy ever for Straw Hats will hinder their way...Can you believe Marineford Summit War will look 'cute' compared to that?"

One Piece is currently in the middle of the "Whole Cake Island" arc and is now streaming on Crunchyroll and FunimationNOW.
