Black Panther is now in theaters, and like every Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, there are certain staples that must be included in the mix. One of those staples is, of course, a cameo appearance from Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee, and now we know what it is!

Needless to say, a big SPOILER is coming!

Stan Lee's Black Panther cameo comes during the South Korea mission that T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), and Okoye (Danai Gurira) embark on, in order to capture Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis). The mission takes them to an secret casino, where high-rollers and ne'er-do-wells play for high stakes money.

T'Challa blends in by taking up a spot at the craps table. However, just after his first throw of the dice he spots Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) in the room, and realizes his mission to get Klaue is compromised. T'Challa goes to speak to Ross, never realizing the dice roll in his favor, and he has just won big. As the chips are awarded, Stan Lee appears as another player at the table, claiming he will kindly 'hold those chips' until T'Challa returns.

On the scale of Stan Lee Marvel Cinematic Universe movie cameos, this moment in Black Panther feels like one of the more organic and humorous ones. It doesn't break the fourth wall, or feel like an extraneous cut scene; it's a nice little surprise that director Ryan Coogler plays perfectly, getting it in, then immediately moving into one of Black Panther's best action sequences.

Black Panther is now in theaters. It will be followed by Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th, Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, the fourth Avengers movie on May 3, 2019, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.
