The Walking Dead's Enid will be part of a new acting competition coming to a new iOS app.
Katelyn Nacon will judge a month-long acting competition on the 8secondz app. The competition invites teens and young adults to flex their acting skills. Acting experts, including Nacon, will judge these performances and provide mentoring.
Nacon will judge 8-second videos of competitors acting a favorite scene from a movie or TV show. Nacon will reward the two winners with mentoring (via Skype, Google Hangouts, or phone).
“In 8 seconds show me your acting skills by recreating a TV or movie scene,” Nacon said in a statement.
Here are details on how to enter the "Start Acting Up" competition:
Nacon plays Enid on The Walking Dead. In 2014, Nacon landed her first national television role on ABC's Resurrection. She was also Chloe Cook on Cartoon Network Adult Swim's Too Many Cooks and co-starred in Awesomeness TV’s T@gged. She joined The Walking Dead in 2015 and was nominated for Young Artist Awards for playing Enid in 2016 and 2017. In 2015, Katelyn released her first EP Love in May, on which she performs five songs that she wrote.
8secondz is a new take on online video presentations. Mentors judge the best in class and reward "heroes" with one-on-one coaching sessions. Videos are limited to 8 seconds in length!
The “Start Acting Up” competition begins at 7:01am (AEST) 29 December/9:01pm (EDT) 30 December, and closes at 6:59pm (AEST) 30 January, 2018/8:59pm (EDT) on 31 January, 2018.
Users can enter any/all competitions each month, but only one entry per user is permitted for each competition. The 8secondz app is free to download, posted videos are free to view, and it is free to vote.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
