The Internet can be a terrifying place, but it has come out in full joyous force for Dragon Ball fans as of late. The long-running franchise reached peak popularity years ago when tech-savvy otakus went online to evangelize all things Saiyan. Now, social media is blowing up a subtle tidbit found in a recent promo for Toei Animation's Dragon Ball Super. And, of course, the resulting memes are all comparing two new anime characters to a pair of DC Comics icons.

Over on Twitter, fans began rallying behind a newly released trailer for Dragon Ball Super's upcoming 'Universal Survival' arc. The storyline is set to pit Goku and his Universe 7 warriors against other fearsome opponents in a life-of-death martial art tournament. With Zen-Oh watching over the ordeal, all the world's universes will have their representatives meet up to defend their homes - and two of the officials look rather familiar.
At the end of the trailer, fans are shown a brand-new God of Destruction and his angel attendant. Much like Beerus and Whis, the pair look deceptively strong, but it is there appearance that has fans buzzing. The unnamed characters look entirely too reminiscent of the Joker and Harley Quinn from DC Comics. With the god's clownish attire and his angel's pigtails, there was no way netizens were going to let the look-alike duo go unnoticed.
