If you haven't seen or read Noragami, it is a franchise that definitely deserves your attention. With an amazing writing and lovable characters, Noragami is a highly underrated franchise, much like the main character in the story. Yesterday, bad news came from the staff of the franchise regarding the current running manga Noragami: Stray God.

In the latest issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine, it was announced that the manga Noragami: Stray God will be going on an extended hiatus for a sad reason. According to the monthly magazine, the manga will be going on an extended hiatus so that one of the creators can recuperate from an illness. It is currently unknown when the manga will return, but the magazine announced that when the return date is known it will publish the date.

Noragami is written by a female duo that goes by the pen name of Adachitoka. The names are of a combination of the character artist Adachi, and the background artist Tokashiki. The magazine did not specify which of the two creators is recovering from the illness. This news explains why the 75th chapter of the manga didn't appear as planned, as the editorial staff said that the break was due to "circumstances". Hopefully the creator, whichever one is recovering from the illness, will be fully recovered soon.

The manga is currently being released in English by Kondansha Comics, who is also publishing the spin-off manga Noragami: Stray Stories. The company describes the original manga:

Yato is a homeless god. He doesn't even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers! So to achieve his ambitious goals, he's set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he'll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can't afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.

Norgami was first launched by the female duo Adachitoka in the Monthly Shonen Magazine back in 2010, and Kodansha first published the manga's 18th compiled book volume on February 17 of this year. Kodansha Comics released the manga's 17th volume in October.

We here at Comicbook wish Adachitoka a safe recovery, and can't wait for the next issue of Noragami: Stray God.
