Toonami Adds Lupin III To Its Line-Up

Toonami is one of the most popular ways for American fans to watch anime on television. The weekly late night program on Adult Swim plays some of the most popular adult themed anime series starting at 11 P.M. on Saturdays. Get ready Toonami fans, because it looks like there will be a new show added to the popular block starting this June.

TMS Entertainment announced that Toonami wil be premiering the popular show Lupin III: Part IV on June 17. This is the first time the show will premiere with an English Dub and is confirmed that it will air weekly on Adult Swim. The English dub was previewed at Katsucon this year, and the entire dubbed series will be released for home video this year.

A beloved classic franchise, LUPIN THE 3rd PART4 will be the first full-fledged Lupin the 3rd television series to air since 1984, when Lupin the 3rd Part 3 aired. The new story takes place in Italy and San Marino, and features a blue-jacketed Lupin in his 20's. Lupin the 3rd follows the escapades and adventures of master thief Arsene Lupin III, a brilliant thief who has been able to carry off heists no one ever thought possible. Although he has been arrested and jailed on multiple occasions, he has always managed to escape.

Lupin the Third is a classic franchise that got its start back in 1967 with the original manga that appeared in Weekly Manga Action. The manga received its first anime adaptation in 1971, being so popular that it has received 5 series and many OVA and film adaptations as well. Toonami was on Adult Swim a decade ago, now it is back premiering Part 4's English dub.
