In the world of Dragon Ball, there are some truly interesting names to scope out. Goku is rather tame compared to names like Mr. Satan and even Beerus. Over the years, Akira Toriyama has been careful when it comes to picking his characters’ names, and fans around the world are understandably envious. If your dream is to become a Super Saiyan, then you have got to have a name that suits your aspirations. So, thankfully, one of the stars from Dragon Ball has made a name generator for such an occasion.
Over on Twitter, Christopher Sabat shared his own take on the Super Saiyan Name Generator. The voice actor of Vegeta shared his “super thought out” equations with fans on Twitter, and the formula has become a hit. If you want to test out Sabat’s (unofficial) Super Saiyan name generator, the instructions are quite simple. All you have to do is this: Super Saiyan + the last vegetable you ate minus its last two letters.
Did you give it a try? You get bonus points if you ended up with Super Saiyan Toma. A fighter with that kind of name could surely pummel Yamcha at the very least.
If you are curious as to why Sabat was insistence on vegetables, then you have to look back at Dragon Ball’s actual Super Saiyan names. Toriyama has a love of naming puns, so the creator chose to name all Saiyans after vegetables.
For instance, Vegeta is simply the first six letters of the world vegetable. Other Saiyans continue the pun such as Bardock (Burdock), Broly (Broccoli), Cabba (Cabbage), Nappa, Raditz, and more.
So, what kind of Super Saiyan name did you wind up with? Hit us up on Twitter @ComicBook or @MeganPetersCB to let us know your Dragon Ball alter-ego!
