The anime industry is coming out of one successful spring season, but Japan isn't just lingering upon those accomplishments. Summer is moving in, and fans from all over the world are awaiting anime's upcoming television season. Both new and returning series are slated to hit TV come July, and ComicBook has your go-to guide for some of the season's most anticipated titles.

From sports anime to gamer-friendly seinen titles, summer of 2017 has plenty of titles coming up to get otakus hyped. You can check out some of our favorite recommendations below:

New Game!!

New Game!! is on the top of many otakus' watch lists thanks to its captivating first season. The anime is set to return for a second season in July, and the seinen title is already racking up buzz. If you are not familiar with the anime, then you still can catch up quickly. New Game!! tells the story of Aoba Suzukaze, a high school graduate who dreams of becoming a video game designer. The protagonist lands a job at the developer Eagle Jump, and the story then follows Aoba as she proves she's capable of bringing a video game to life.

Fate/Apocrypha

The Fate/Stay Night franchise is slated to have one busy year, and this summer will kick off the series' packed schedule. In July, Fate/Apocrypha is set to debut and welcome back fans of the historical tale. The new anime will be a parallel one to Fate/Stay Night as Fate/Apocrypha takes place in a world where the House of Einzbern never summoned a Ruler for the Third Holy Grail War. The events of Fate/Stay Night did not happen in this new anime, so the story's rival factions Red and Black end up summoning mediators to quell their ongoing Holy Grail War.

Welcome To The Ballroom

If you like sports anime but are tired of watching kids play volleyball, then you may want to give Welcome to the Ballroom a shot. The unique anime tells the story of middle-school student Tatara Fujita after he gets reamed by some neighborhood bullies. The boy is saved by a local ballroom teacher, and the elder winds up convincing Tatara to enter into the world of competitive ballroom dancing. The anime, which is set to debut in July, is already gaining buzz thanks to its stunning animation. So, if you have any interest in picking up a new sport, Welcome to the Ballroom might give you some much-needed inspiration.

Katsugeki Touken Ranbu

July will see a slew of anime titles make their debut, and one ambitious show is ready to take fans back to the age of the samurai. Katsugeki Touken Ranbu will satisfy any otaku who has an interest in history and magical sword fights. The series is set in 1863 and follows the end of the Samurai Era as divided shogunate forces began to skirmish. However, when an army of time-traveling "revisionists" come back to alter the course of history, two warriors make themselves known who want nothing more than to scrub away Japan's unwelcome time-hoppers.

DIVE!!

If you are a fan of Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, then Zero-G Studios has just the treat for you this summer. The anime company will release DIVE!! in July, and the swimming-centric series is sure to heat things up for shonen lovers. The new series is based off light novels by Eto Mori, and DIVE!! will tell a more sports-focused story than its previous swimming predecessors. The anime follows the Mizuki Diving Club as it comes on hard times. With the group's sponsors ready to fold the club, member Tomoki Sakai is feeling down, but the Diving Club gets a break when new coach Kayoko Asaki is brought in to revive the dwindling organization.
