Bleach Creator Shares Sketch Of One Rare Soul Reaper

In the world of Bleach, there are countless of Soul Reapers to gush over. The Soul Society is stuffed with powerful fighters whether they're captains or not. If characters want to create a fan-base, the Soul Reapers have to fight for attention. That is, unless Tite Kubo chooses to share a small sketch of a little-known Soul Reaper to help the guy out.

Recently, Bleach's spin-off manga Can't Fear Your Own World released a new chapter, and it came with a special sketch from Tite Kubo. The creator shared a black-and-white sketch of Seinosuke Yamada, a former lieutenant of the 4th Division under Captain Retsu Unohana. You can scope out the image below!

The simple sketch shows Seinosuke sitting in a chair with a ceremonial hat on. The lieutenant has his long hair swept aside, and his black Soul Reaper robes are tied into place.

If you are not familiar with the Soul Reaper, you shouldn't be too surprised. There is very little known about the character. Seinosuke Yamada acted as Unohana's lieutenant more than a hundred years before Kotetsu Isane took over the role. The character has only been shown in the Bleach anime peripherally, but die-hard fans are always eager to learn more about the Soul Society's previous Gotei 13 members.

For fans who find the character familiar, it is likely because you know of Seinosuke's brother. Hanataro is the former lieutenant's younger brother, and the two boys have the same lidded eyes. The younger Soul Reaper will be familiar to fans as Hanataro played a major role in the 'Soul Society' arc and continued to pop in throughout the rest of Bleach.

Bleach is author Tite Kubo's second title. Kubo made his debut with ZOMBIEPOWDER., a four-volume series for Weekly Shonen Jump. To date, Bleach has been translated into numerous languages and has also inspired an animated TV series that began airing in Japan in 2004. Beginning its serialization in 2001, Bleach is still a mainstay in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2005, Bleach was awarded the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in the shonen (boys) category.
