A recent issue of Weekly Jump revealed several playable Dragon Ball FighterZ characters including Super Saiyan Blue versions and iconic Androids.
According to the weekly magazine, Goku's and Vegeta's Super Saiyan Blue will be two playable Saiyan warrior forms. Once-adversaries and now-allies Android 16 and Android 18 have also been confirmed for the upcoming Dragon Ball fighting game.
Given the events that unfolded in Dragon Ball Super since the release of the series, may Dragon Ball enthusiasts expected that the two Saiyans would be able to access these Saiyan versions. With the three-man fighting style that Dragon Ball FighterZ plans to employ, having both Super Saiyan Blue fighters will be a huge boon to any team.
The two high-powered fighters will apparently be separate characters, not in-fight transformations. They'll also come with some signature moves at their disposal with Goku using 10x God Kamehameha to blow away enemies and Vegeta using Final Flash Attack to put an end to fights.
On a more cybernetic note, both Android 16 and Android 18 will also be included in the game. Android 18 can use an ability called Accel Dance to summon Android 17 for a combination attack, but at the time, it's unclear whether Android 17 will be included in the game as a playable character or not. Fans can only hope that he will make a playable appearance given his recognizable coolness and the significant ties he has to Android 18 outside of combo moves, but more details of his inclusion have yet to be revealed.
Along with confirmed fighters, a story mode centered around Android 16 was also revealed in the magazine. Specific details on the story mode have yet to be revealed, but it's being called a "new story for Goku and friends depicted in high-end animation," one where "super warrior fall one by one."
Previous characters that were revealed for Dragon Ball FighterZ include iconic heroes and villains like Majin Buu, Krillin, Trunks, and Frieza with Frieza also having his ultimate Golden Frieza form confirmed.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2018 with a closed beta beginning September 16th.
