Warning! Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super's 111th episode lie below!

Dragon Ball Super just reached the halfway point of the Tournament of Power, but the milestone came at a major cost for one fighter. When the anime returned this weekend, fans were forced to watch as the brutal battle between Jiren and Hit left the latter warrior knocked out of the tournament in a surprise turnaround.

Dragon Ball Super's latest episode has got fans up-in-arms because of its shocking elimination of Hit. The Universe 6 assassin made the unwise decision to fight Jiren one-on-one after the Universe 11 warrior schooled Goku in battle. Hit had hoped his Time Skip attacks would be able to hold off Jiren in a battle, but the Pride Trooper was not affected by moves.

Fans could only watch as Hit took a severe beating from Jiren, and even Goku looked shocked by how badly the assassin was getting pummeled. Fans were given a bit of hope when Cabba told his Saiyan comrades that Hit clearly had a plan, and the boy's prediction did come true. The episode's latter-half saw Hit use a move which he called a last resort. By taking all of Jiren's punches, Hit was able to predict how the Pride Trooper would attack him and used his foresight to trap Jiren in a spacial counter.

However, as fans soon learned, not even time itself was enough to keep Jiren in place.

As Hit was seen gathering energy into a final attack, Jiren began tugging on the spacial restraints which had frozen him. The Universe 11 fighter began making his way to Hit, but the other moved in time to use his attack…which Jiren blocked with a single glare. Having broke free of Hit's final move, Jiren launched a heavy assault against Hit which overwhelmed the assassin and threw him out of the arean's bounds. Universe 6 and its gods could do nothing has Hit was taken into the stands following his fiery exit from the Tournament of Power, and Champa seemed to be at a loss for words; Even Vados seemed a bit surprised by her charge's awestruck expression.
