To say fans are passionate about One Piece is a bit of an understatement. The franchise is one of Japan's most iconic, and its manga is poised to take over Batman in overall comic sales soon enough. Fans of the series are loyal to Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew.

And, as you can see below, one of the show's voice actors is just a tad obsessed with her character as well.

The One Piece fandom was given a reminder recently of how devoted Luffy's voice actress is to the franchise. Mayumi Tanaka may be more than 60-years-old, but her cosplay game is stronger than ever. Clearly, she knows the best way to bring Luffy and his Gear Fourth move to life.

All it took was a lot of balloons and patience.

Gear Fourth is a cumbersome look to rock, but Tanaka pulled it off easily when Japan was rocked by an earthquake. The actress donned this stunned cosplay of Luffy back when the city of Kumamoto was stricken by a 7.0 quake; The anime's crew went to raise funds and cheer up victims of the natural disaster by bringing their famous characters to life for fans. So, for Tanaka, the star knew she had to go all out.

It's hard to miss the elaborate Gear Fourth cosplay the actress has going on. In order to bring Luffy's bulbous body to life, Tanaka donned a carefully made balloon-cosplay that mimics the hero's blown out frame. The actress even filmed herself in the cosplay shouting out some of Luffy's most famous Gear Fouth techniques, and fans can say they're proud such a voice actress is taking care of Luffy these days.

If you are not familiar with the Gear Fourth technique, then you will want to brush up on the attack ASAP. The move is one of Luffy's most powerful as he unlocked it during his very long feud with Donquixote Doflamingo. The technique gives concentrates an enormous amount of strength in Luffy's upper-body, but it does take a lot out of the pirate. The power of Gear Fourth can - and will - knock Luffy flat on his back, but it doesn't look like Tanaka is too plussed by the move. Maybe Luffy could stand to take some lessons from the star...
