Warning! Spoilers for One Piece's 884th chapter lie below:

Luffy has had his fair share of epic battles over the years. The pirate is still revered for his fights against Lucci and Bellamy to start. However, Luffy's on-going battle against Charlotte Katakuri may take the top spot when it comes to the captain's most intense battles. And, with One Piece's latest chapter, fans are thinking the series hinted at how Luffy will beat the Sweet Commander.

In the most recent chapter of One Piece, fans watched as Luffy unleashed an intense beatdown on the Katakuri. After having his face unveiled, the villain found himself thrown off-balance, and Luffy quickly realized why he had been led to think Katakuri was invincible.

"Your mochi ability isn't what's amazing!!! It's your colour of observation, isn't it!!?" Luffy demands before launching an attack. Having singled out the baddie's use of Kenbunshoku Haki, Katakuri lets his pretense fall away and own up to his power.

"It's pretty clever of you to have figured that out," Katakuri says.

"You're right, I transform to dodge your attacks efficiently. It's all possible if you can see the future with Haki. Because I was a bit flustered, I gave you the chance to land an attack. After all, color of observation can't be activated if you're not calm…!"

Katakuri's spiel confirms the villain is able to evade attacks against him because of Haki, but it also gives away how the baddie can be defeated. Luffy did some solid damage to the villain while he was out-of-sorts, and the Straw Hat didn't even have much time to inflict it. Katakuri is most dangerous when he is calm, but Luffy is a master of riling his opponents up.

If Luffy can shake Katakuri's focus for long enough, the hero could land a debilitating blow on the Big Mama loyalist. There is no telling how long Luffy will be able to use Gear Fourth against Katakuri, so he needs to be careful with how he expends his energy for the moment. If the captain can find a way to reveal Katakuri's true features and personality to the world, the villain may not recover from the shock a second-time around. So, here's to hoping Luffy knows how to unhinge Katakuri and has enough doughnuts to tempt the tricky commander.
