Dragon Ball Super is unapologetic about its love of Goku, but the anime has more fighters than just the Saiyan. Vegeta and Piccolo are two fighters whom fans wish the show would feature more often. With the Tournament of Power in full swing, Piccolo has found himself facing off with two Namekians, and one theory suggests the battle may make the Universe 7 fighter more powerful than ever.
If you are not caught up with Piccolo’s recent excursions, then you should know the fighter has been busy. Piccolo teamed up with Gohan to take on the two Namekians from Universe 6. The pair tried to take on Goku after the Saiyan was beaten down by Jiren, but Piccolo and Gohan stepped in to protect their comrade. The tag-teams have been fighting ever since, but some fans think the lackluster battle is setting up a big moment for Piccolo.

Dragon Ball Super's “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
Right now, the Tournament of Power is weeding out the weak with lots of prejudice. There are a total of six universes left fighting, and most of them only have a few fodder fighters left. Universe 6 is left with its female Saiyans and then its Namekians - but things do not look good for the team.
With Kefla fighting Goku, fans know it is a matter of time until the Saiyan takes the fusion out. Once the girls are gone, Universe 6 will be left with the Namekians, and the pair will not be able to take out the rest of the Tournament’s line-up. Even if Saoneru and Pilina went and hid to outlast the remaining universes, it would only be a matter of time until they were forced out of the arena’s bounds.
The fate of Universe 6 doesn’t look good, but the Namekians can do something to help their people out. However, it would force the pair to play nice with Piccolo.
Fusions aren’t new to the Dragon Ball universe, but Namekian Fusions are rare. Dragon Ball Z only used the technique a couple times, but DDragon Ball Super may have reason to bring it back. Many fans have wondered if the Namekians of Universe 6 will fuse in a desperate bid to beat Piccolo and Goha, but one theory questions what would happen if the fighters instead merged with Piccolo.
A few episodes back, fans learned that Vegeta planned to bring back Universe 6 with the Super Dragon Balls when he wins to help out Cabba. The touching moment showed how close Universes 6 and 7 are, and the Namekians could rely on that bond to save them. Saoneru and Pilina could make a deal with Piccolo once they realize they are outmatched; If the trio willingly fuse, Piccolo will be given enough power to help Universe 7 win, and all Piccolo would need to do in return is promise to bring back Universe 6 once the Tournament of Power ends.
Anything is possible when it comes to Dragon Ball, so the three-way fusion between Piccolo and his Universe 6 counterparts is not out of the question. Akira Toriyama is a master strategist, and he is not blind to how much love Piccolo gets from fans. The coerced fusion may be an unlikely route for Toriyama to take, but it is one that would give a fan-favorite fighter a solid power-up in the face of Goku’s use of Ultra Instinct.
If there is anything holding the theory back, it would be the pride of the Namekians. Piccolo is no pushover when it comes to making deals, and the Universe 6 fighters would surely hate to assimilate with the man. When Namekian Fusions happen, the process is irreversible and forces the weaker fusers to be absorbed by the strongest one. Fans have no doubt Piccolo would be the one to take in Saoneru and Pilina should the trio come together, but there is hope. If Piccolo were to use the Super Dragon Balls to wish Universe 6 back to its original state, the mystical objects should be powerful enough to split the trio into their separate selves, so Piccolo would not have to stack any new consciousnesses on top of Kami.
