If you are a fan of Butch Hartman's work, then you better prepare yourself to see the artist's latest take on anime. The creator of The Fairly OddParents just tried his hand at Hunter x Hunter, and Gon fits too well into the Nickelodeon series.

Over on Twitter, Hartman shared a crossover sketch of Hunter x Hunter and his classic cartoon. The mash-up, which can be seen below, shows Timmy Turner replaced by Gon Freecss. The hunter is seen stylized after Timmy, but Cosmo and Wanda do not look thrilled with the newcomer.

After all, it does look like Gon is trying to fish the fairies and have them be his next big catch.

If you are not familiar with Hartman, then you should know the animator is a massive anime fan. Earlier this year, Hartman teamed up with Crunchyroll to give The Fairly OddParents a full-on anime makeover. The artist did an anime-style imagining of Timmy Turner and his fairy godparent comrades taking on Mr. Crocker. The fight paid homage to classic series like Dragon Ball, and Hartman told fans he took on the crossover because he is a big fan of the anime industry.

It may be weird for Hunter x Hunter fans to see Gon jump into a new franchise, but the hero does have a few things in common with Timmy Turner. Both kids began their fantastical journeys at a very young age. Gon kicked off his quest at just 11-years-old, and Timmy has been 10 ever since the cartoon began. The pair also have an interesting troupe of friends, but their similarities flatline there. Timmy's adventures tend to be light-hearted ones, but Gon isn't afraid to dig into dangerous treks and dark stories when called upon. The anime hero may be a friendly guy, but his inhuman senses can wreak havoc like Timmy has never seen.

If you are not familiar with Hunter x Hunter, then you can definitely get acquainted. The shonen series is one filled with hijinks and thrilling action since it follows a young boy named Gon Freecs who dreams of becoming a Hunter. Determined to pass the challenging Hunter Examination, Gon and his comrades begin their journey to become revered Hunters and cause a ruckus along the way.
