How Would Fans React to 'Dragon Ball Z' Today?

As popular as Dragon Ball Super is with fans now, some have been wondering what the more critical and public voice of fandom would react to the events of Dragon Ball Z.

Hilariously, fans took to Reddit to guess how it would turn out. It is a doozy.

One of the more prominent criticisms of Dragon Ball Super, especially during the current "Universal Survival" arc, is how power levels seem to increase way too fast. Reddit user Astronomer_X facetiously likens this criticism to the first time Goku learned to use the Kamehameha Wave in the original run of the Dragon Ball manga.

"Roshi spent decades learning the Kamehameha and Goku does it as a child in 5 secs? Toriyama has lost his mind," Astronomer_X jokes. This has parallels to Goku's fight with Kale and Caulifla in the Tournament of Power. As the real time of the tournament is supposed to be a little under an hour or so, fans often deject the fact that Caulifla and Kale reach Super Saiyan 2 levels of power less than thirty minutes after finding out it existed. And this is all before their fusion into Kefla, whose power levels brought on a whole new set of issues among fans.

User Starless_Night takes a stark look at one of the more important events in the series: Vegeta's first transformation into Super Saiyan. Joking that "Remember that time Vegeta got so pissed about not being a Super Saiyan, he became a Super Saiyan?"

This statement also mirrors current criticisms of Dragon Ball Super as the previously mentioned Universe 6 Saiyans Kale, Caulifla, and Cabba seemed to reach the Super Saiyan form without much effort.

Reddit user Hiellua goes even further and nitpicks the entire series and notes that many of the series' original character designs, and even designs for Super Saiyan (such as Super Saiyan 3's luxurious mane) would be harshly criticised by current fans of Dragon Ball Super in the way many fans criticise how current designs and forms look.

Either way, this is indeed a humorous experiment as to how the current fandom would react to Dragon Ball Z.
