'My Hero Academia' Event Imagines Cast As Fantasy Warriors

My Hero Academia's new season is still a few months out, but the series has not dropped off the radar entirely. Recently, the anime held a special event for its heroes, and fans were given an in-depth look at its cast's fantasy alter-egos.

Yesterday, the cast of My Hero Academia gathered in Chiba's Yachiyo City Municipal Hall to show off a new anime-centric event. The festival touted new designs which were inspired by the anime's rather popular fantasy ending done by LiSA.

As you can see below, the event had special trinkets for My Hero Academia fans to buy. Buttons, mini-stands, posters, clear files, and more were on sale for event attendees to buy. Each of the pieces featured artwork from My Hero Academia's "Datte Atashi no Hero" ending, and the anime took to Twitter to highlight the fantastical reel.

If you are not familiar with the ending theme, you should know it debuted under the show's second season. "Datte Atashi no Hero" was the season's second ending, and it reimagined U-A Academy's heroes as fantasy characters.

The clip, which can be seen here, shows off heroes like Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki. The former looks like a Hobbit ripped from the pages of a Tolkien story, and Ochaco wowed with her mage class. As for Shoto, the boy was turned into a prince looking to escape his stifling kingdom, and Bakugo's fiery personality made him the perfect dragon rider. The ending followed the characters as they all met and went to battle against a vicious horde of monsters, and Izuku came out on top with his meager sword.

For those who aren't familiar with My Hero Academia, the manga by creator Kohei Horikoshi began publishing back in July 2014. Bones Studios adapted the series into an anime in 2016, and the series has quickly become a phenomenon. My Hero Academia takes place in a world full of people with quirks, which you might recognize as superpowers. Except Izuku Midoriya doesn't have one.

Izuku Midoriya has always wanted to be a hero, but he was born without a quirk. When the world's leading superhero All-Might chooses Izuku to be his successor, the boy's world is turned upside-down as he gains a quirk, a new school, and a set of very dangerous enemies.
