'Attack on Titan' Volume 24 Gets Promo Trailer

Attack on Titan fans have been waiting on the next volume of the manga for quite some time, and Kondansha is making that wait even harder.

Releasing a promo celebrating the upcoming release of Volume 24, Kodansha has gotten fans talking.

Along with featuring famous panels from the upcoming volume, the slick editing of the video has reminded fans of what central moments actually take place. It also makes not of how series creator Hajime Isayama's art has improved over the course of the series. One of the more impressive scenes, as the female Titan and Armored Titan charge forward across a two page spread, is a great example of Isayama's artistic evolution. Volume 24 gathers together chapters 95 through 98 and covers events of the Marley arc.

The "Marley" arc centers on the nation of Marley across the ocean. After ending its war with the Mid-East Allied Forces thanks to the power of the Titans. But the Marley military feels the lack of Titan power as time goes on, so they instead decide to try and gain the power of the Founding Titan, one of the first nine Titans with ability to control the Titans among other assorted powers. But in order to do so, they have to confront Eren Yeager and the last remnants of Eldia, the last country to try and use the Titans to conquer the world.

Volume 24 Attack on Titan releases December 8 in Japan, with a Western release coming next April.

For those unfamiliar with Attack on Titan, the series was originally created by Hajime Isayama. Starting its run in Kondansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009, the series has been collected into 23 volumes as of 2017. It's set in a world where the last remnants of humanity live within a walled city in order to escape the danger of the Titans, a race of giants monsters that eats humans. Eren Yeager joins the military with his two childhood friends Mikasa and Armin after the Titans break through the wall and attack his hometown.

The series was adapted into an anime from Wit Studio and Production I.G. with a third season premiering in 2018. 68 million copies of the manga have been sold as of 2017, and has been met with major critical and commercial success worldwide.
