Sword Art Online remains one of Japan's most popular anime titles, but its light novels are still growing. Reki Kawahara's re-imagining of the series has been slow going as of late, but readers will get some more soon enough. After all, the fifth volume of Sword Art Online: Progressive has finally been announced.

Earlier this month, fans learned a new arc would be coming to Sword Art Online, but it was not the only announcement made. After a long wait, news broke that Sword Art Online: Progressive would release its fifth volume on February 10, 2018.

The confirmation is an exciting one for readers of the reboot. After all, it has been more than a year since the adaptation's fourth volume went live. Dengeki Bunko's announcement came at the right time for fans, and now all that is left to do is wait.

If you are not familiar with Sword Art Online: Progressive, you should know it is a reboot of the original Sword Art Online series. It debuted in October 2012 and follow Kirito and Asuna's re-imagined journeys through Aincrad. The first volume went over the adventures the duo had in the game's first and second levels, and the last volume wrapped the fifth.

If you are not familiar with Sword Art Online, then you should know the series is one of Japan's most popular animes. The franchise was created by Reki Kawahara and has an anime with two complete seasons under its belt. The series follows a boy named Kirito after he and thousands of gamers get trapped in a virtual reality video game known as Sword Art Online. The gamers must band together to defeat the game's final level to escape, but Kirito and his guild learn there is more behind their prison than they were originally told.
