Death is no stranger to the Dragon Ball franchise, but it is rare for the guy to stick around long. Over the years, the series has been liberal with late-minute resurrections, but Dragon Ball Super's dub will not be able to fix its most recent death.

No, there's no way Future Bulma is coming back from what Goku Black did.

This weekend, Toonami began airing the 'Future Trunks' saga after a long wait. The new Dragon Ball Super story kicked off with episode 47 and the awaited return of Trunks. The older Saiyan is seen rushing to his mother's lab in a desolated city, but Future Bulma reminds her son they do not have time to chitchat.

Cutting to the chase, Bulma gives her son a container of fuel which took her nearly a year to make. The liquid will be enough to make a one-way trip with Bulma's time machine, and she needs Trunks to use it to enlist the help of Goku and Vegeta. Trunks goes to leave once he has the package, but his mother goes after him to ensure the fuel isn't destroyed during his escape. The pair don't make it far before Goku Black appears in the shadows to destroy Bulma's lab, and the villain takes the heroine's life before he goes.

After destroying Bulma's lab, Goku Black holds the woman up to him by her shirt collar while Trunks watches on helplessly. The villain sends a massive Ki blast at Bulma at point-blank range, vaporizing her as Trunks unwillingly exits with his mother's precious fuel. The Saiyan makes it out alive but at great cost - and he most certainly will never forgive Goku Black for all he's done now.

After all, it isn't like Future Trunks will let the baddie go after having killed Bulma. There is no way that will slide.

DragonBall Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturday evenings at 7:15 p.m. CST. Adult Swim airs the English dub during its Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m, and is now available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon Video.
