The 2018 Winter Olympics are in full swing, and the whole word is eyeing its figure skating programs. The ever-popular sport has dozens of high-profile athletes going for gold this year, and it looks like one of them is a big EXO-L.

Yes, that's right. Evgenia Medvedeva loves K-pop, and she says EXO is one of her biggest inspirations both on and off the ice.

The Olympic games have only been going on for a few days, but Medvedeva recently set a new world record after she competed in the ladies' short program. The Russian figure skater garnered a 81.06 points for her routine which beat her previous record of 80.85. The moment was a special one, and the skater said she worked very hard to hit the ice in PyeongChang.

"I'm happy I set a world record. It's been difficult, but I worked hard to be on stage at the PyeongChang Olympics," Medvedeva said (via Soompi).

Shortly afterwards, the star athlete was asked if she enjoyed K-pop and which songs she likes. Medvedeva lit up and confessed she is a big fan of EXO, a premiere group under SM Entertainment.

"I enjoy listening to EXO's songs," she said before adding that she'd love to meet the band. "I really want to see them. I have all of the EXO members' photos."

Medvedeva even revealed she listened to EXO before her record-setting program.

"It's unreal inspiration and it really improved my mood. I was able to compete well. I feel more confident because of them," she said. "I hope that all of the EXO members are healthy."

Of course, Medvedeva will get a chance to see EXO perform live during her trip to South Korea. The K-pop superstars are slated to perform at the Winter Olympics' closing ceremony along with former 2ne1 rapper CL.
