Today Atari announced a new partnership with NECA to introduce a new line of sleek, futuristic, wearable tech inspired by the upcoming sci-fi thriller Blade Runner 2049. This new line of wearables is debuting with a dope Atari hat with discreetly built-in stereo speakers. They're calling them (predictably) Speakerhats, and this limited edition Blade Runner 2049 Atari Speakerhat is being powered by Audiowear to produce a pretty unique listening experience that can even be shared with friends.

So check it out. This is a regular baseball-style cap with high-fidelity speakers and a microphone built right in to the underside of the bill. This cap can connect to any Bluetooth device to receive calls, listen to music, or issue voice commands. If you have a bunch of nerdy friends who like to party, you can engage "Multiplayer Mode," which "will enable multiple Speakerhat users to simultaneously listen to a single audio stream in perfect synchronization, a fundamentally new social audio experience."

"Atari has transcended its seminal gaming origins to become a true pop-culture lifestyle brand, but disruption remains deeply rooted in our DNA," said Atari Connect COO, Michael Arzt. "With the recent reveal of our Ataribox project and now with Speakerhats, we envision a full range of connected personal devices that live at society's intersection of entertainment, technology and social connectivity that legendary film worlds like BLADE RUNNER 2049 foretell. Our new products will speak to a whole new generation of Atari fans, while also honoring the decades of affection and devotion by our most loyal ones."

It's an exciting time as pop-culture and nerd-culture collide into one, vibrant, passionate stream of fans and trendsetters, and Atari wants to be right in the middle of it. You can learn more about its lifestyle products here. We'll be hearing much more about Atari's upcoming line of wearables, accessories, and gaming gadgets (especially with the Ataribox on the way!), so stay tuned.
