YoungBlood Collected In Trade Paperback
The first four issues of the all-new, all-different Youngblood comic series are being collected into a trade paperback called “Focus Tested.” The new Youngblood features the creative team of Godland’s Joe Casey and Conner Hawke’s Derec Donovan.
“’Focus Tested’ is the opening salvo of the new Youngblood assault that Derec and I have planned,” Joe Casey said. “The stories in this collection are just the beginning of a much larger epic that, for fans of the Youngblood concept, should give them exactly what they’ve been wanting for years. It’s pop superheroics on a grand scale, not to mention media and celebrity worship at its most obnoxious. All this, plus the grand soap opera and the big explosions that superhero team books do so well. This one’s got it all!”
Secret Invasion Continues
Secret Invasion continues to be the event of the year. Marvel has just announced even more Secret Invasion tie-in sell outs.
Secret Invasion: Fantastic Four #2, Ms Marvel #28, Secret Invasion: Runaways/Young Avengers #1, Mighty Avengers #15 and Avengers: The Initiative #14 have all sold out at distribution.
Marvel doesn’t have any current plans to reprint these issues. The issues reveal some important secrets behind the Skrull invasion such as how Hank Pym and Spider-Woman were replaced, what the Human Torch and the Thing can do to save the Fantastic Four, the secret that 3-D Man holds, and what the Skrulls want with Hulking and Xavin.
Invincible #50 Sells Out
Even though Invincible #50 had a record print run for series, the issue has sold out at distribution. Image has announced that a second printing is on the way in order to meet fan demand for the comic.
“Fans sure do love it when the book hits the fan,” said writer Robert Kirkman. “Issue fifty altered the series in a way we haven’t seen since Omni-Man’s true nature was revealed and people have really taken notice. I think a lot of people will be even more surprised by what’s next.”
Invincible #50 was an oversized issue that included an extended lead and bonus stories. The issue revealed the origin of Cecil Stedman and included an all-new edition of Science Dog with art by Invincible co-creator Cory Walker.
