Silverline Books To Be All-Ages Line from Shadowline
Image Comic’s Shadowline is launching a new imprint of graphic novels and books. The new imprint will be called Silverline Books and will be targeted to all-ages.
“Silverline Books is dedicated to publishing quality all-ages books that bridge the gap between traditional storybooks and comics,” said Publisher Jim Valentino. “We believe that there’s a strong need to reach out to younger readers and introduce them to comics with uplifting, non-violent stories in a format they’re familiar with.”
The official launch of Silverline Books starts on October 29, 2008. The first Silverline book will be Dear Dracula by Joshua Williamson and Vicente Navarrete. The book will be a Halloween-themed story about a boy who receives a visit from the king of all vampires.
The second Silverline book will be Bruce, The Little Blue Spruce by Shadowline editor Kristen Simon and Image co-founder Jim Valentino. It is scheduled to be released in November and tells the story of a tree that wants nothing more than a family to take him in on Christmas.
In December, two more Sliverline titles are scheduled to be released. Missing The Boat by Justin Shady and Dwellephant tells the story of two lazy animals who are too late for Noah’s Ark. PX! Book Two: In The Service Of The Queen by Eric A. Anderson and Manny Trembley is the softcover follow-up to last years double Eisner award nominee.
