If you watch the first couple seconds of the new Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen movie trailer, then you might start to wonder if the Transformers movie sequel is going to be a musical. But, thankfully, the singing and dancing that occurs by a giant robot in the new trailer appears to be just a brief joke scene. After Sam announces that he's going away to college, Bumblebee starts dancing and singing "I'm So Excited," before Sam reveals that Bumblebee is not coming with him. After this brief musical scene at the beginning, the new Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen movie trailer totally rocks. The early movie trailers for the Transformers sequel had me worried that the movie might suffer from a sophomore slump and not live up to the original. All those concerns are completely gone now that I've seen the new Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen movie trailer. The original Transformers movie was at its best in scenes of giant robots transforming, battling, and blowing stuff up. The new trailer shows that the second movie will live up to the original in regards to dazzling special effects. The sequel will offer up giant robots scaling the pyramids, battling in a forest, and blowing up a warship. In fact, the sequel looks like it will be a visual treat to the eyes in every way the original was and perhaps even more so. In addition to giant robots, there is a shot of Megan Fox in hot pants on a motorcycle that would make a great poster for my wall. If the original Transformers movie had any weaknesses it had to be in the area of the plot. The first Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen movie trailer was limited in dialogue and didn't show much in the way of plot, so the fear was the movie might not have one. However, the new trailer reveals twists and turns involving ancient symbols that go back to the time of the pyramids, and now it looks like the plot for the sequel will actually be stronger than the original. The dialogue that was revealed also sent additional chills up my spine that the sequel could contain stronger writing. When Sam tells Optimus Prime that this isn't his war, Optimus Prime replies, "I fear that it soon will be." Another Optimus Prime voiceover says, "Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing." While some critics might find this a little cheesy, I feel giant robots, incredible special effects, memorable dialogue, sexy Megan Fox, and just the right dash of humor will translate into Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen becoming a huge summer time blockbuster movie.
