A potential spoiler involving Commissioner James Gordon in the Dark Knight Rises was revealed by a company selling film cell clips for the movie. Filmcellsltd.com posted a picture and description of framed Dark Knight Rises film cell clips, which are limited to only 2,500.
The product contains a description of the Dark Knight Rises, which says, “When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman’s legacy piece by piece.”
Of course, this description doesn’t reveal a lot of information, but the description along with the image of the product does reveal a potential spoiler in relation to Commissioner Gordon. From the description, we know that Commissioner Gordon discovers a plot to destroy Gotham City, and from the image, we learn that Commissioner Gordon becomes a fugitive. In addition to having the fugitive label above Commissioner Gordon, the words “Report On Sight!” are also stamped across Gordon’s picture.
If this information is correct and Commissioner Gordon does become a fugitive, then it will be an interesting turn of events, because at the end of The Dark Knight, it was Batman who became a fugitive. It also might help to explain the scene in the first Dark Knight Rises trailer where Commissioner Gordon lies injured in what appears to be a hospital bed. Perhaps, he is hurt because someone wanted to deter him from revealing the plot to destroy Gotham City.
The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 20, 2012.
