With Easter coming up, our thoughts have turned to some of our favorite comic book rabbits. Yes, throughout the years, the rabbit has become an important part of our pop cultures. There have been famous cartoon rabbits like Bugs Bunny, and there have been famous movie rabbits like Roger Rabbit. Our list below though focuses on those rascally rabbits that originated in the funny book pages.

5. Cutey Bunny

– We kick off our list with a rabbit of the female persuasion. While Cutey Bunny had a short lived comic book run, it was a memorable one. She was a furry superheroine that appeared in the eighties underground comic book series, Army Surplus Komikz.

Max of Same and Max4. Max

– Max premiered in the 1987 comic book series Sam & Max Freelance Police as one half of a dog and rabbit private investigator team. In addition to comic books, Sam & Max have starred in their own cartoon series and video games. Max is one of the most successful comic book rabbits of the modern era.

Captain Carrot3. Captain Carrot

– There have been a fair amount of superhero rabbits throughout the years, but in the modern era, no star has burned brighter than that of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew. Captain Carrot premiered as an insert comic in the pages of New Teen Titans, before getting his own series for twenty issues. He has since appeared in mini-series and as guest in other series.

Hoppy The Marvel Bunny2. Hoppy the Marvel Bunny

– A rabbit from the golden age of comics. Hoppy the Marvel Bunny debuted in 1942 in Fawcett's Funny Animals #1, and he even had his own series for awhile. Hoppy originated as a spin-off of Captain Marvel, now known as Shazam. While originated by Fawcett Comics, the irony now is that the Marvel Bunny is owned by DC Comics.

Miyamota Usagi1. Miyamoto Usagi

– This rabbit is a highly trained swordsman, who was created by Stan Sakai. There is no way we could not put this rabbit on the top of our list, as he has the longest running comic book series currently being published that we're aware of with a comic book created rabbit in the title role.  Usagi Yojimbo has reached 144 issues and counting. So do you agree of disagree with our list of top comic book rabbits? Who did we leave off the list that we should have included? Who is your personal favorite comic book rabbit?
