Variety is reporting that actor Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to join the cast of Thor 2 as an undisclosed villain.
Mikkelsen has previously played the villain in the James Bond film Casino Royale, and had a supporting role in Clash of the Titans back in 2010.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has said previously that Loki would not be the film’s central villain and that someone else would fill the role; actors Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth have hinted that the film may even toy with Loki’s redemption.
Bleeding Cool, which has previously reported that the Enchantress would figure into the film, is speculating that he may play The Executioner in the film.
It should start filming soon in London, and will be in theaters in November 2013.
