James Badge Dale, who has been cast in the role of Coldblood-7 in the upcoming Marvel sequel Iron Man 3, has been photographed by FameFlyNet.com wearing the Iron Patriot armor first seen in Dark Avengers.
Needless to say, Marvel movies doesn’t have the rights to use Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin), who was the Iron Patriot in Dark Avengers, and so instead they appear to have folded Badge Dale’s character into the role.
Given the tight security of the Iron Man 3 set and the fuzzy nature of these pictures, it could turn out that these aren’t legit–but if they’re for real, it’s a potentially huge plot beat that’s been spoiled early in the production.
