Now that Ben Affleck has officially spoken and said that he is not working on a Justice League movie, it clears up room for other rumors to pop up linking other directors to a Justice League movie. The latest rumor has Lana and Andy Wachowski as being on Warner Bros. wish list to direct a Justice League movie.
The rumor comes way of Moviehole.net. They don’t name their source, but they claim it is someone who has a better chance than most at getting a glass to a door at Warner Bros. While any rumor from an unnamed source has to be taken with a grain of salt, it wouldn’t really be surprising if Lana and Andy Wachowski were under consideration. While the duo has had some hits and misses in the past, directors are often considered to be as good as their last film. Apparently, even though it has yet to be officially released, their latest film Cloud Atlas is generating quite a bit of positive buzz.
As far as how comic book fans would receive the duo as Justice League movie directors, they would likely have some supporters and some detractors. The duo was responsible for The Matrix, which is one of the most beloved sci-fi movies of all time. However, they were also responsible for Speed Racer, which is best forgotten. If Cloud Atlas is as good as people are claiming though, it would go a long way toward fans getting behind the directing team for a Justice League movie.
