With The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey set to premiere in a little over a week, Star Trek fans have anxiously been looking forward to seeing the first nine minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness in front of IMAX screenings of The Hobbit. Even though there was some debate over if non-IMAX screenings of The Hobbit would get a regular Star Trek Into Darkness trailer, it is looking now like that will indeed be the case.
However, the really surprising news is that Star Trek fans won’t have to wait until next Friday to see more of Star Trek Into Darkness. Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the new Star Trek movies, recently tweeted, “Star Trek Into Darkness trailer. Premieres online, this Thursday. Get ready to boldly go again.”
While Pegg didn’t reveal how long the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer would be, TrekMovie.com is reporting that their sources are indicating that it will be a one minute teaser trailer. Star Trek Into Darkness is set to premiere in theaters on May 17, 2013.
