The 12 Days of Free Comics at ComiXology Starts Today

Just yesterday, a handful of major publishers announced what they would be doing for May's Free Comic Book Day -- and today, online retailer ComiXology revealed that every day from now until December 18, they'll be giving away a free digital comic on their site. "ComiXology has had an amazing year and to celebrate we – along with 12 amazing publisher partners – are giving back to the fans and giving them the opportunity to freely share amazing comics," said co-founder and CEO David Steinberger. "By delivering the best reading and buying experience – what we like to call 'buy once, read anywhere' – we've hit such milestones as cresting 100 million downloads of comics and graphic novels!" In addition to downloading the titles, ComiXology points out, you can also give them as gifts using the "give as a gift" feature on the book's purchase page. "Our vision is for everyone, everywhere to read comics and with our Twelve Days of Gifting we're continuing to make good on that promise," said co-founder John D. Roberts. "With comiXology being the 11th Top Grossing iPad app in 2011, it's been gratifying to see how often we're the very top grossing iPad app this year, particularly on Wednesdays.
